WELCOME TO ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY SCHOOLS

  • Located at the southern base of the Shenandoah Valley, our school division serves over 2,500 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Rockbridge County Public Schools provides a safe, inclusive, equitable, and student-centered environment where our diverse community of learners grows intellectually, physically and emotionally, and students are inspired to achieve their full potential. Rockbridge County Public Schools, in collaboration with families and community stakeholders, will challenge and empower students to think, learn, and meet their full potential to become lifelong learners, and productive and responsible members of society.

Rockbridge County School Board Meetings


  • The regular monthly meetings of the Rockbridge County School Board are held on the second Tuesday of each month.  Unless otherwise noted, all regular meetings will be held at the County of Rockbridge Administration Building, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia at 5:30 p.m.  Special meetings and work sessions may begin at other times.  Please check this page frequently in the event of a change or additional meeting dates.

  • Annual Resources Update for Serving Students with Sensory Disabilities (Revised October 2024) - The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) provides information on its website about educational services and resources to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired, or deaf-blind.  To learn more, CLICK HERE

  • VALLSS is the new Virginia Department of Education’s sponsored literacy screener - It is replacing the PALS literacy assessment. During the 2024-2025 school year, students in preschool through third grade will be screened using this tool at the beginning, middle, and end of the year. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
