How do I get involved in Theater at RCHS?
Posted by:Theater is a class that happens during the school day. Register for "Survey of Theater and Dance" to get involved!

Do I have to be on stage to be in Theater class?
Posted by:Everyone in Theater class needs to be comfortable being visible on stage, but not everyone must be an actor.

Will there be practices after school?
Posted by:We will have extended practices that go beyond the regular school day as we approach our production performance (usually the last two months prior to a performance). Students' extra-curricular schedules are considered when planning practices.

Ms. Allen Director
Erin Allen is a graduate of Rockbridge County High School. She earned her Art Education degree from James Madison University and her Master’s in Creative Dramatic Writing from Denver University. She has been an art teacher in public schools throughout Virginia for over 20 years. As a full-time teacher at RCHS for more than 10 years, she teaches Studio Art & Design I – IV, and Survey of Theater and Dance. Art students participate in an Annual Student Art Show. Theater students perform one major production, a full musical or play, each year.

Ms. Darrington Singing & Acting Coach
Gracyn Austin Darrington is a graduate of Southern Virginia University with a BFA in theatre as well as her license in elementary education. Gracyn started acting at a young age, playing Gretl in her brother’s high school production of The Sound of Music. Some of her favorite roles include: Robin in Godspell, Puck in A Midsommer Night’s Dream, Shelby in The Spitfire Grill, Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods, and Alice in Bright Star. She is excited to be using her love of theatre and teaching skills at Rockbridge County High School!
