C.A.T.S. Leadership Information
  • Are you a rising junior or senior who would like to help some of our rising freshmen and transfer students navigate and transition into high school? If so, apply to be a C.A.T.S. Leader!

    Benefits of being involved:
    - Great way to show leadership in your school
    - Great activity to include on your resume
    - Community Service Hours
    - Freshmen students are always worried about upperclassmen and their perception of them. You can help bridge that gap.

    Expectations:
    - Leaders will be expected to be present at Freshmen Orientation on the Friday morning before school starts.
    - Leaders will have a group of freshmen students that they work with throughout the year.
    - Our goal is that every month throughout the year you will meet with your freshmen mentees to work on team-building and other activities. Leaders are expected to meet prior to those monthly meetings to discuss what the topic will be during that week.
    - It is expected that leaders will attend all meetings and be there for their 9th grade students, so if you cannot make the commitment, then you should not apply.
    - For transfer students, leaders will provide tours around the school and eat lunch with them the first day or two that they are here.

    Process:
    - Applications are due by Wednesday, May 15, 2024
    - Applications include at least one teacher recommendation.
    - New C.A.T.S. Leaders will be announced by May 20th and will have a training session on May 24th to discuss expectations and plan for next school year. A Freshmen Orientation Planning Meeting will occur on August 8th to review expectations and duties at Freshmen Orientation on August 9th.
