RCHS Future Business Leaders of America Contest Winners

RCHS FBLA Members Excel at Regionals!



Members of the The RCHS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) brought home their several medals after competing at regionals at Longwood University on March 15, 2018.  “We are so proud of our students, they definitely made an impression at regionals and gave strong performances.” said teacher Donna Wallace. Wallace, along with Mike Lenoir are the sponsors of FBLA.


Regional competition involves different types of events, including online testing, performance-based events, team events and chapter events. There are also many different categories of topics and competencies being assessed. Fourteen high schools participated in the Longwood regional competition.  Schools may enter two students in each event category.


First place winners include:  Diwesh Kumar, Accounting; Christopher McIvor, Computer Problem Solving; Cal Fitzgerald, Cyber Security; Hunter Grist, Economics; Robert Swartz, Introduction to Public Speaking; and Brinson Mullis, Journalism.


Second place winners include:  Emma Funkhouser, Introduction to Information Technology; Diana Goad, Job Interview; and Claire King, Organizational Leadership.


Third place winners include:  Sean Carrington, Computer Problem Solving;  Abbey Mays and To’Alima Mulitano, Sports and and Entertainment Management.


First and second place winners are eligible to compete at the state conference held in Reston, Virginia in April.
