RCHS Takes 1st Place at Wind Turbine Contest

The KidWind Challenge is an annual event developed to allow students to explore the power of wind by building and testing their own wind turbines. KidWind has been helping students and teachers learn about wind energy for 15 years. Recently, at the Science Museum of Western Virginia in Roanoke, the RCHS team won 1st place. They will be competing for Virginia at the national event this summer. The champions are pictured above with their wind turbine machine.
