Fairfield Elementary School Competes in Destination Imagination Contest.
The Fairfield Elementary School Destination Imagination team recently competed at the regional games in Charlottesville. The Giant Rainbow Flying Savages team competed in the Scientific Challenge category, Unlikely Attraction. The team had to create an amusement park attraction that was located in an unlikely location. The team placed 4th out of 13 teams in their competition level. The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity and curiosity through open-ended academic challenges in the fields of STEM, fine arts, and service learning. The team was led by teacher, Cathy Whitesell.
